Editorial Guidelines

Utawala Directory is only useful if the information here is accurate. These are the rules our editors, moderators and community volunteers follow every day.

1. Verification before publishing

Every new business listing is checked for a working phone number, a real physical location in or serving Utawala, and - where possible - a photo taken on the ground. Listings that fail verification are not published.

2. Independence from paid features

Businesses can pay for featured placement or a verified badge, but paid customers receive no special editorial treatment. Reviews, complaints and moderation decisions are handled the same way for everyone.

3. Reviews

• Only real users who have created an account can post reviews.
• We do not remove critical reviews unless they violate our policy (fake, abusive, off-topic, or clearly defamatory).
• Business owners can respond publicly to any review.

4. Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction. Report an error via Contact or the "Report" button on any listing.

5. Sources

Neighbourhood guides cite prices, openings and services with the source and the date they were last verified. Prices in Utawala change fast - we re-verify quarterly.

6. Safety

We never handle payments between users and businesses. Always view a property in person and confirm details before sending money.
