Terms of Service

Utawala Directory is a community platform maintained by the site owner to help residents, landlords, agents and businesses in Utawala, Nairobi connect. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Utawala Directory. "You" refers to any visitor, member or lister.

You may browse the directory without an account. To post listings, reviews, bookings or claim a business, you must create a free account and keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

• Information must be accurate, current and lawful.
• You must own the listing, be authorised to list it, or use the "Claim your business" flow.
• You must not post duplicate, misleading or spam content.
• Photos must be your own or used with permission.
• We may edit, unpublish or remove listings that break these rules or receive credible complaints.

You may not post content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, deceptive, sexually explicit, or that infringes anyone else's rights. Fraudulent listings and fake reviews are grounds for immediate removal and account suspension.

Reviews must be based on genuine first-hand experience. Businesses may not solicit fake reviews or offer incentives in exchange for positive ratings. Reviewers must not post personal contact details or private information about others.

Utawala Directory facilitates introductions between users, agents, landlords and businesses. We are not a party to any booking, tenancy, sale or service agreement made between users. Always verify identity, agreements and payments directly with the other party before parting with money.

Basic listings are free. Featured, Premium and other paid placements are billed through our providers. Fees are non-refundable once a paid tier is live, unless required by law. See Pricing for current tiers.

The Utawala Directory name, logo, layout, code and original content are our property. User content stays owned by the user, but by posting on the platform you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display, index and promote it within our services and search engines.

Some pages link to external services such as Google Maps, WhatsApp, payment providers and social networks. We are not responsible for their content, terms or availability.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms other users or exposes the platform to legal risk. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep information accurate but cannot guarantee that every listing is current, verified or error-free. You use the directory at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Utawala Directory is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform, including losses arising from transactions between users.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any dispute that cannot be settled through good-faith discussion will be handled by the courts of Nairobi.
